Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

I love watching the show “Cash Cab”, even if I only can watch it on rare occasions. If I ever get to New York, and need a cab, I am SO going to look for Ben Bailey.

When I was newly divorced, and not dating at all, I had to have a series of procedures done at the hospital. They always made me take a pregnancy test. I told them over and over again that, unless biology had changed recently, one had to engage in sex to become pregnant. They still insisted on the pee test EVERY SINGLE TIME, even though it was generally only a few days between the procedures. After being asked for the umpteenth time if I could possibly be pregnant, I replied, "Only by immaculate conception."

Heard on the radio this morning:
“You know what it means when a woman has big feet, right?”
“No, what?”
“It means she has big socks.”

When I was a kid, I used to watch all the adults sit around and talk. They were BORING. Then I got older. When I was in my late teens, adult conversation became a little more interesting. Now my kids think I’m boring. And stupid.

I happen to live in the same state as Steenky Bee, just a short hour drive away from each other. So of course, we had to travel 4+ hours out of our way to finally meet in Moab, UT this past weekend. She’s awesomely nice, and not an internet axe murderer (as far as I could tell), and I’m pleased as punch to be her “first”.

Ron and I took all our kids (minus one who lives out of state) to go see "Wicked" on Easter. Even though we could only scrape enough money together to buy us seats in the nosebleed section, it was absolutely fantastic. The two leading ladies had the most amazing voices. I wish we could have sat closer to get the full effect of everything, but I'll take what we can get. I was glad to give the kids the experience of going to a Broadway show (without having to travel to New York)(although I'd like to do that, too).

You meant the steenkster...I am jealous. Did she let you touch her hair?

Happy RTT!

We used to have the Cash Cab here in the UK. I wondered where it had driven off to.

We love Cash Cab! And we are going to NYC this weekend ... maybe we'll luck out! I just know I would freeze up though and lose it all!

Too funny about the pregnancy test. And the socks.

big feet, hehhee

Ahh, so it was YOU that Steenky had a super secret meetup with. I'm jealous that you guys got to meet each other but glad you did.

Jamie gets told all the time that he looks like the dude from Cash Cab. Either that, or Detective Stabler from Law & Order SVU. I think he looks like himself.

I wear big socks.

How's HASAY going? Drop and gimme 20.

That's the first I have ever heard about the big feet theory...

I saw Chicago when it was touring once. It was fantastic. That's great you were able to take the kids to see a show.

And I hate the EPTs too. I wish they would believe you when you say you don't need them.

Happy random Tuesday!

Sounds like there has been a lot of extensive research done on this big feet theory. Sounds like the evidence is pretty conclusive! =)

I just read the "about me" on your sidebar - 7 daughters and stepdaughters? HOLY COW! We've got five kids between the two of us, and thank goodness only three are girls.

All those girls of yours must be teenagers, or close to it, because yes - the minute they turn 12, you become the stupidest person on the planet.

Been there, done that - would you like to borrow my t-shirt?

Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City put on "Chicago" a couple years back. It had cast members who were on the original Broadway play. It was really fabulous. Loved it!

My girls are precocious-- they start to think I'm Completely Stupid at age 11.

Teens are challenging. Teen girls are hormonal and challenging.

I'm DYING to see the show Wicked!..going on years now. Just don't get up to NYC as often as need be.

I wonder how long it will be before my toddler thinks I'm totally boring. He already tunes out..

Do you have pictures of your first time? Preferably while dressed like Asian schoolgirls?

I loved SteenkyBee's rendition of your meeting. I really want to go see Wicked but don't have the cash. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much!

I loved Wicked. I took my daughter as part of her HS graduation a few years back and we were mesmerized!

Oh I love Wicked I enjoyed the book. I lent it out to someone and never got it back. I want to see the play. Thanks for coming by today.

I keep hearing so much about Wicked I am going to have to read the book or something.
It's so fun you got to meet Steenky. She's a riot!

I've been trying to follow you all week. Google friend hates me and keeps saying it can't complete my request.

Sigh.

I'll try again tomorrow, after all it's another day right?

i looked for the cash cab during my recent trip to NYC. not only could i not be so lucky as to find it - but i also was un-lucky enough to get into the cab of a man who spoke NO english, and was his first day - so he had NO idea how to get around, and he STOPPED on the highway - TWICE! - and he had a tom-tom that he ignored in favor of getting lost and driving us from manhattan, to queens, then through queens, only to come back around to get to la guardia.

i'm so jealous that you live near steenky bee.

I love the Cash Cab, it gives me a teeny ego boost every time I know the answer to one of the trivia questions. But I think Ben Bailey stopped hosting. It's a shame, he was great.

Coolio on the bloggy meetup. So glad Steenky wasn't an axe murderer. Would've been a whole different RTT post. ;)

lucky girl - I would love to see wicked as well - I love cash cab as well - but I feel sort of stupid sometimes!

love the cash cab! i watch it while working out. the people on that show are so dumb it cracks me up.

I already know the other cool blogger in my area. There's no fun in THAT. Clearly I have to travel to Utah.

Stacy Uncorked said...

So YOU were the mystery blogger that Steenky was meeting in person! How cool is that?! ;)

I really want to see Wicked - one of these days I'll drag hubby to see it, mark my words! ;)

I'm guessing Princess Nagger will think I'm boring when she hits the tween or teen years - she already thinks hubby is stupid because he likes to mess with her mispronouncing stuff just to have her correct him... ;)

Happy RTT! :)

That's all my boys could talk about when we went to DC. Do you think *that* cab is Cash Cab? Do you think we should try to *hail* that cab?
