I've got about 25-ish pounds I need to shed. It's not that I'm particularly unhappy with how I look (ok, so maybe I'm slightly unhappy with how chubby I look in my Yellowstone pictures), but more about how I feel physically. My back can definitely tell that I'm carrying extra weight, which makes it hard to do things I enjoy doing (like hiking).
So I'm trying really hard to avoid sugar as much as possible, and attempt (ha!) to get more exercise. I've found it's very difficult to get exercise when you're running the kids around all over creation...
I'm not sure how I'll update y'all on my weight loss progress, since I'm very anti-scale. I gauge things by how loose or tight my pants get, or by how much of a "muffin top"** I have showing over my waistband.
I really should break out the yoga DVDs and find time to use them.
** Kayla's description of my extra padding that... um... 'overflows' above the waist of my pants...

That's funny that you should mention the "muffin top" today. My daughter just asked me what that meant (heard it somewhere, I guess) and I tried to show her. Sweet child she is, she said, but Momma, you don't have anything puffing over your pants like that. However, this is the same child who watched me step out of the shower one day a few years ago and said "Momma, when I grow up will I have big boobs like you?" Perhaps her sense of proportion is out of whack, or she needs new glasses? Often though, I look in the mirror and say, how the heck did my mother's body get here? Or is this a fun house mirror Jeff has brought home...
I wish I had my mother's body... she's small and petite. I inherited my paternal grandmother's body, which is kind of scary, considering the woman weighed about 400 pounds by the time she died (and was diebetic).
It's weird to think of how (unhealthily) skinny I used to be in high school... I am 60 pounds heavier now than I was then! When I told a previous boyfriend what I weighed back then, he took one incredulous look at me, and asked if I was missing a leg back then.
At least I can hold my weight well. It means I always win at those "Guess Your Weight" games at amusement parks...
On second thought, maybe that's something I shouldn't brag about. LOL!
