Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

Once, in college, we got an obscene phone call at the house. So my roomie and I grabbed a copy of "The Purity Test" and started reading the questions to him one by one. When we reached the one that read 'Have you ever made an obscene phone call?', he couldn't keep up the heavy breathing anymore and just burst out laughing.

Growing up, the only sports I regularly participated in were clumsiness and sprains. And I was GOOD.

I’ve had the same stupid song stuck in my head for almost two months. I find myself whistling it when I get up in the morning, and catch myself humming it while I work. And even when I get up in the middle of the night to pee, it’s coursing through my brain. What song is it, you ask? It’s the theme song to the animated cartoon television show “Arthur” on PBS. Please, shoot me now.

Few things satisfy like a really good poop.

The Totally Awesome Bakery should NOT be on my way to and from work. It is far too tempting to stop and get a chocolate-chip shortbread cookie made with real butter. They melt in your mouth. And they won’t give me the recipe!

Costco is seriously deadly to my paycheck. It has been my favorite store since I was a kid (I grew up in Washington). I remember when things were packaged in clear plastic bags (no retail packaging) and stacked on folding leg style tables. And when you checked out, there was a “caller” and the cashier. The caller could tell you the inventory numbers of just about everything in the store, too, right off the top of their head. (Anyone else remember those days?)

Once when I was making breakfast, 5 out of 8 of the eggs I cracked had double-yolks. Is that freaky, or what? I should have taken a picture.

Oooohhh nooooo....Costco is the devil. There is no other place where you can walk in with a list and a few hundred dollars later...well, you know. We do love all the free samples though!

The way to get rid of one song is to replace it with another. I recommend BEER!!! by Psychostick.

That is a seriously funny song, Grant!

And stuff.

"Few things satisfy like a really good poop."

Especially when you're whistling the theme from Arthur!

What is this bakery?

And I don't even have a Costo membership!

No Costco anywhere near me. From what I hear, that is a good thing. I don't need anymore places to spend my money.

Rotten bakery! Tell you what, though, I'll begin experimenting with chocolate chip shortbread cookie recipes. When I've got it perfected, I'll post it.

Because no sacrifice is too great for the blogging community.

This is where you all start humming "America the Beautiful" or something equally patriotic.

I was gonna say something about the Berenstain Bears theme in my head, but I just had a good long poop. and Feel like I'm born again.

I had to go back and realize I had read the good long poop as a good long book, and I thought, Wow, Jello really likes her reading!

Maybe now we can get "Winnie Apu" stuck in your head ;)

So many people find a good poop satisfying. I guess I am in the minority. I just don't get it.

I do remember the callers.... I always wondered why they didn't just use skews! Why do they still check off your receipt at the door? I don't get it.

I like how we went from pooping to talking about a bakery? lol!

I'd digging your poop reference, you know that's right up my alley! And you're right, pooping is cool, especially when you don't have kids knocking down the door.

Great random! Poop included! ♥

I don't know the Arthur theme song. How does it go?

Thanks for the info on Grandma's creepy song...seems like all these nursery rhymes and songs were all made up during the black plague etc.

Thanks for the MANY laughs on this random entry, hilarious! Oh, and should you ever take a trip to Brooklyn beware...there are delicious bakeries on EVERY corner!

Word Girl, Veggie Tales, and the Superman theme run on a continuous loop in my brain. SERIOUSLY sucks.

Double yolks? Freaky. Some poor chicken has the genetics for twins.

I have the Elmo's World song in my head pretty much constantly. I plan to check into rehab any day now.

pooping is very important. i think the worst kind of cancer to have would be the kind that affect some part of the digestive system, like rectal cancer.

costco - heavy sigh - i have a love/hate relationship with costco. i love going there, i hate myself when i leave ... and then again to my husband when I explain what exactly i spent $268 on.

Loved your way of getting rid of the obscene caller.

The Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has taken up permanent residence in my brain.

Costco can def be a problem, we also have 2, yes 2, Targets in my town. DANGER Will Robinson.

I found 6 four leaf clovers on Memorial Day....nothing good has happened so far.

I'll work on getting a picture of my hermit crab...I'll let you know!

I love the Arthur theme song....but after hour 4, I would probably be over it.

I also think that same thing about pooping! Sometimes it's so good and you just want to tell everyone (kinda like how you just did). :)

"Few things satisfy like a really good poop."

Amen to THAT!

LOVE the purity test idea! LOL!

Are you kidding me? I'd kill myself if I had that lame-ass song stuck in my head.

I'd rather have a succesful bowl movement than an orgasm.

I'm surprised Kristina P. hasn't been excommunicated by now. I thought "Costco membership?" was one of the temple recommend questions. And ya, it's one of my favorite stores, too. My kids and I go there and just wander. I could spend all day there.

Mom and I used to head to Costco for lunch...yes...the aisles and aisles of samplers fed us enough to call it, "lunch."

Nothing can EVER satisfy as a good poop. haha

Commenting when I have a vat of vodka under my belt @2:12 makes it SO much fun to comment.

It's been a while since the Arthur theme song has been stuck in my head...and now that you mentioned it, it's baaaaack! Thanks... ;)

"Few things satisfy like a really good poop." AMEN to that! And ROTFLMAO! :)

I grew up in Washington, too - but we didn't go to Costco at that time...I got addicted when I was living on my own, and I'd rope my sister into going with me so we could split the cost and the bulk items...worked like a charm! Now I'm on my own with only BJ's to soak me for my grocery money... ;)

Happy RTT late! :)

The theme song from Animaniacs and "Barack the Magic Negro" keep running through my brain. I'm sure you can imagine why considering who I live with! :)

I say there is one thing to rival a good poop - a full bladder that empties completely after pregnancy! Ahhhhh...
