We're back! And very, very tired... so you're gonna get a theme meme about a theme park today.
We all got sucked into the world of Disney pin trading. I got some awesome ones, including a Toy Story
Alien, the evil
Malificent, and a "Do Not Disturb" door hanger for the
Tower of Terror's "The Hollywood Hotel".
Here's the four girls in the theatre, waiting for the stage production of "Aladdin" to start. (And if you are ever in Disneyland/California Adventures, you HAVE to go see this...)
Overheard on the shuttle bus going to Disneyland:
Mom to 2-year old girl: Janie, would you like to come over here and sit by me?
Older sister to 2-year old girl: Don't fall for it!
Ron is 6'2", and still had to stretch to high five Sully. :)
I ran into an old friend from college while at Disneyland! We haven't seen each other in over 15 years. We found out we were both there at the same time because of our FaceBook updates. LOL!
Favorite rides at California Adventures: Tower of Terror and California Screamin'. The latter is probably the smoothest coaster I've ever ridden, and is just plain FUN to ride.
Favorite new ride:
Toy Story Midway Mania! in California Adventures.
Favorite rides at Dizzyland: Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Haunted Mansion. I find it rather strange that Splash Mountain, one of the main ride attractions at Disney, is based off a movie you can't even get ("Song of the South"). Go figure.
We also went to the beach for an afternoon. It was Jak and Nikki's first time at the ocean! Doesn't Nikki look like she's having a blast in the waves? :)
A half hour into our long drive home, the check engine light came on. Thankfully, we were traveling back in the afternoon, and found a Jiffy Lube to diagnose the computer code for us. I googled the code on my Blackberry, and we figured out that we needed to tighten our gas cap. Yes, really. I guess if it's not on tight enough, something happens to the emission vacuum positron electron gasitron whoknowsitron thingamajig, causing an air leak. And causes you much stress until you figure out you don't need to worry about it.

But I noticed you didn't come up to Canada and get me and my 3 boys, cause I know "codes", see that wouldn't have been beneficial. :P (excuse my whiny 3yroldness)
Glad you had a good time, it looks like a bundle of fun, did the kids sleep?
A little masking tape will fix the check engine light problem. Just place some tape over the light so you can no longer see it and the problem is solved.
I always enjoy your RTT! You went to disney i am so jealous! my son does the collecting of pins-he has a ton!
Looks like you had a great time
That's it! We're going to Disneyland for Christmas. I grew up in So. Cal but we haven't been in so long.
What a great trip!
Awesome!! Disneyland=cooool! I so want to take my boogerheads when they get old enough to remember the trip! Thanks for posting the great pics. Glad you guys had fun!!!
Glad you had a wonderful time. It's always magical at Disney.
I can't get over the fact that your car just needed a tighter turn on the gas tank cap! Amazing.
"Pirates" was very much my favorite ride at Disney. Love the battle between ships and all.
(For clarity's sake, I'd like to point out that my full name is James S. Sullivan, whereas that other Sully is James P. Sullivan. Some folks do confuse us.)
So glad you had a blast! And I'll have to check out the Aladdin show when my son is with his dad. Don't get to do the grown up stuff at Dland or DCA. Tower of Terror scared the crap outta me when I went on it for the first time like a month ago. It's good though :o)
As long as your flux capacitor is okay, you should make it back just fine. Sounds like you had a great time! Aladdin the show? Awesome!
Only been to Disney World. Loved Tower of Terror though. Probably my favorite ride at a park. ever.
If I had to choose only one ride to go on in Dizzyland, it would be the Tower of Terror, for sure.
I see a helluva sunburn on that beach pic!
That is awesome that you can google a diagnosis for your check engine light. I love that.
Happy RTT. Looks like a fun trip!
Yeah, our 'check engine' light comes on for that reason all the time. Super irritating, because I freak out every single time.
Looks like an awesome trip! Welcome back!
How cool is that, running into an old friend at Disney! I'm glad you had a fun trip, and yes, Nikki does look like she's having a blast. She's adorable!
"googled the code on my Blackberry" ah the wonders of modern technology. our car has had that problem too. isn't that weird?
Those pins absolutely saved me when I took my son to Disney. We had no interest in them at all until that last day when my feet were so sore I could barely move and I just wanted to sit down and people watch for a short bit...my son figured out what these were all about and I sat in a central location and watched as he ran from store to store trading. Fun idea, really.
I agree, Aladdin was the best show.
AND California Screamin erally is the smoothest ride! I love roller coasters but sometimes find them to be too start-stop jerky, but that one is great. We were there in January, there were no lines and we rode it back to back about 6 times and I wasn't sore in the least!
I've heard of the gas cap thing before and if my light ever comes on, it will be the first thing I check! I think it's the cheapest and easiest thing that can go wrong when you see that dreaded light.
