SOLUTION: Facebook Mobile "Sorry, an error has occurred."

Problem:
  • You attempt to send a status update to "32665" (Facebook) from your cell phone
  • An error message is returned that states, "Sorry, an error has occurred."
Solution:

Change how you send status updates to Facebook.
  • Click on "Account" in the top right-hand corner of the Facebook main screen
  • Choose "Account Settings"
  • Click on the "Mobile" tab
  • Click on the "Go to Facebook Mobile" link near the top of the page
  • Find the "Upload via Email" section.
  • Your "Personal Email" will be highlighted.
  • Send status updates to this email instead of 32665.
Note: You do not need to have internet access on your phone for this to work. Just send a text to the email address, and it will go through fine.

I have been on facebook for about three weeks. Came off it yesterday-what a palaver, you would think I was running away with the crown jewels.

Found your answer via a Google search - I have been getting this error for about 10 days now, since last Wednesday. Have tried myriad ways of getting someone at Facebook to get back to me about it and NO response (no surprise). Glad to know it's not just me. Will try your solution as soon as I can get near my home PC (can't access FB from work). Will bookmark and let you know if it works. Thank you!

yeah I've had this problem for like 2 weeks, and I think it is only occurring on Verizon phones. On the facebook mobile "Known Problems" page, there is now a small section on this problem, but no solution is given; it just asks you to report the problem. Hopefully Verizon and facebook will resolve this issue, because "32665" is easier to send status updates to than an email address, but until then, this is a great solution. Thanks!

It worked!! I haven't been able to update for almost 2 weeks, but my son has been able to....and yes, like everyone else that I have read who has been having this same issue, we are both on Verizon as well.
